The Veiner Nëssmoort (Nëssmaart, Nussmarkt, Notenmarkt) is on Sunday 11 October 2026, 10:00 to 19:00, in Vianden old town. It is Vianden's nut market, organised on the second Sunday of October by the Veiner Nëssmoort asbl, a group of local associations and businesses. First held in 1935, it paused during the Second World War and from 1952 to 1969 and has been annual since 1970. Up to 20,000 visitors come for fresh walnuts, nut liqueur and brandy, cakes and pâtés, with DJs and bands in the medieval streets.

The organiser's bus page (nessmoort.lu, updated on 30 September 2026, read on 5 October 2026) lists four shuttles: Navette 1A from Ettelbruck via Diekirch and Navette 1B from Diekirch, both via Gilsdorf, Bleesbruck, Tandel, Fouhren and Bettel to Vianden; Navette 2 between Mont St. Nicolas and Place René Engelmann, 10:00 to 20:00, every 20 minutes; and Navette 3 between the Veinen Gare stop and Camping du Moulin, 10:00 to 20:00, every 10 minutes. RGTR lines 180, 181, 182 and 188 and bus 455 from Bitburg also serve Vianden. The 1A and 1B timetables linked from that page are still the 2025 ones (dated 12 October 2025, uploaded in September 2025), so 2026 departure times are not published there yet: check again before travelling.

What is on at the Nëssmoort 2026?

As of 5 October 2026, the organiser's 2026 animation plan (English, French and Luxembourgish info pages, updated on 30 September) lists DJ AL at the kiosk on the Gemänplaz; by the Parkhous, the Medernacher Musik in the morning, then the Strëpp Veiner Musik; and, through the streets, the Time Out Dixieband and the Foulschter Strëpp. The German info page, last updated on 29 September, still shows an older line-up. The stand map lists about 35 stallholders, among them associations, clubs, cafés, restaurants and shops, and notes that several stands offer vegan products. The market is open from 10:00 to 19:00.
