Is registration for the Chouffe Trail 2027 already open, and where do I register?

Not yet: registration opens on 20 December, ahead of the 3 and 4 July 2027 race, on the Passion For Sports platform used for all trailrun.be events; you can leave your e-mail there to be notified 24 hours before opening. The organiser warns that in 2026 the bibs sold out in record time (1,800 bibs sold in one day, 4,300 participants) and expects even more demand for this 10th edition. Since 2026 at most 20% of the bibs of each event go to non-members of the Trailrun.be club; members also get a 48-hour priority window.

How much does the Chouffe Trail 2027 cost?

The 2027 entry fees per distance are not yet published: registration only opens on 20 December, and on 28 September 2026 the Passion For Sports page for 3 and 4 July 2027 showed no price list, only that entry prices exclude processing fees and include VAT and that member rates are based on an Ultra Trail membership. The medal is an optional extra at 5 EUR (members get 20% off options such as T-shirts and medals). Membership of the Trailrun.be club starts at 10 EUR a year. A free La Chouffe is served at the finish.

Which distances and start times can I expect at the Chouffe Trail 2027?

The 2027 courses are still being prepared: the organiser says the programme will be revealed in a few weeks and announces about ten distances over two days, a night trail and the Chouffe Challenge (three trails in one weekend, 38 km or 68 km in total, capped at 400 runners). In 2026 the Saturday programme was the 100 km (start 06:00, 3,123 m of climbing), 77 km (06:00, 2,356 m), 52 km (08:00, 1,598 m), 17 km (waves from 09:30, 588 m), 30 km (14:00, 959 m), 23 km (19:30, 647 m) and the 10 km night trail (22:00, 323 m); on Sunday the 41 km (08:00, 1,328 m), 28 km (10:00, 1,022 m), 18 km (12:00, 549 m) and 11 km (13:30, 265 m). The organiser says the 100 km is on the programme every two years.

What terrain and mandatory equipment should I expect at the Chouffe Trail?

The trails run between Houffalize and Achouffe; the longer distances all pass the original Achouffe brewery, where an aid station is set up (entry does not include a brewery visit). The organiser says more than 80% of the terrain is unpaved, with rocks, roots and steep climbs and descents, and strongly recommends trail shoes. A mandatory and recommended equipment list applies per distance: one missing item at a check means a one-hour penalty, a repeat means disqualification. In 2026 the cut-offs were 3 h on the 17 km, 5 h on the 28 km and 8 h on the 41 km, and a free La Chouffe waited at the finish.
