About the event (2026 edition)
Winterlights is Luxembourg City's official Christmas season, running from late November through early January. Several markets spread across the city centre: Place d'Armes hosts wooden chalets with crafts and mulled wine, Place de la Constitution offers panoramic views from its terrace market, and the Gare quarter adds a third cluster near the train station. An ice rink, a Ferris wheel on Place de la Constitution, and a Christmas tree on Place Guillaume II complete the setting. Food stalls serve gromperekichelcher, hot chocolate and other seasonal fare. Hours for 2026 are not published yet; in 2025-26 the Place d'Armes market ran Sunday to Thursday 11:00 to 21:00 and Friday and Saturday 11:00 to 22:00, and was closed on 25 December.
Winterlights is Luxembourg City's end-of-year festival, announced by the Ville de Luxembourg for 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. The city describes Christmas markets on several sites across town, together with concerts, exhibitions, shows and activities for children.
