About the event (2026 edition)
Kanner in the City turns Luxembourg's city centre into a giant playground for children aged 4 to 12 over two days. Games, workshops, sports activities and creative stations spread across Place Guillaume II, Place d'Armes and Square Jan Palach, each square themed around a different world of play. The event is free, organised by the City of Luxembourg, and staffed by volunteers and youth organisations. Activities change each year, and a printed map guides families between stations. The central location means families can combine the event with a city stroll, and cafes around the squares cater to parents.
Two days when Luxembourg's city centre becomes a giant playground for children aged 4 to 12: games and workshops across Place Guillaume II, Place d'Armes and Square Jan Palach, run by the City's CAPEL team (Aktioun Bambësch). Wander between the squares at your own pace.
