Running since 1980 and the single easiest big German party to reach from Luxembourg, with expected road closures across the centre.
about the event
Trier's biggest street festival takes over the old town for the last weekend of June, with live music on five big stages and many smaller ones, from Schlager and rock to jazz and funk, plus wine, beer and food stalls. It draws tens of thousands. Run by the city of Trier with Trier Tourismus und Marketing.

- When is the Altstadtfest Trier in 2027?
- From Friday 25 to Sunday 27 June 2027. The festival is traditionally held from Friday to Sunday on the last weekend of June (City of Trier and Trier Tourismus und Marketing, read on 29 September 2026).
- Is there an entry fee?
- No. Trier Tourismus und Marketing lists admission as free. An optional festival wristband (Altstadtfestbändchen), sold at the tourist information office at the Porta Nigra and online, supports the festival.
