Strasbourg's famous Christmas market, one of Europe's oldest (first held in 1570), spreads across several squares in the city centre. Over 300 chalets offer crafts, decorations and Alsatian food. The Great Christmas Tree on Place Kleber, the ice rink and the nightly illuminations draw millions of visitors each year. Free entry to the market, open daily from approximately 11:00 to 20:00.
