Mantelsonntag is Trier's traditional autumn shopping Sunday, organised by the City-Initiative Trier (CIT), the association of the city's retailers. On Sunday 25 October 2026, specialist shops, department stores and service businesses in the city centre open from 13:00 to 18:00, outside their usual hours. On the same day the Allerheiligenmesse funfair, held for more than 180 years, runs on the Viehmarktplatz with rides, stalls and food stands into the evening. The association presents it as a day out for visitors from near and far.
