How to open the Chrome dino game

• Offline: open any page in Chrome with no connection, then press Space or the Up arrow to start. On a phone, tap the dinosaur.
• Online: type chrome://dino in the address bar and press Enter (chrome://network-error/-106 also works). It opens in a full-window arcade mode. A web page cannot link to it, so you have to type it yourself.
• Controls: Space or Up arrow to jump, Down arrow to duck under the pterodactyls or drop faster in mid-air. On a phone, tap to jump.
• On Android and iPhone: the game is also in the Chrome app, so type chrome://dino there. On iPhone, Chrome's Dino widget (added in 2021) opens it in one tap.

   A no-ads offline game in another browser

   Microsoft's answer to the dino, built into Edge since 2020: you surf across open water, dodging islands, other surfers and a kraken, and grab hearts for extra lives. Type edge://surf in the Edge address bar (on a computer, Android or iOS) or use the game link on Edge's offline page; in other browsers, Microsoft's Lite edition plays with fewer modes and no saved high scores. It also has real accessibility options, including a reduced-speed mode and a high-visibility mode that shows the hitboxes.

2. 2. Vivaldia (built into Vivaldi)

   Pixel-art fans who want to shoot back

   Vivaldi's built-in pixel-art game, made in 2020 by Porcelain Fortress: the heroine rides a one-wheeler called the CyclePunk to take her city back from evil machines, and you move, jump, duck and shoot. Type vivaldi://game in the Vivaldi browser on a computer or on Android, online or offline. A sequel, Vivaldia 2, is free on Steam.

3. 3. Dino Swords

   The same dino, now with a sword

   The actual Chrome T-Rex runner, remixed in 2020 by MSCHF and 100 Thieves: along the way you pick up 26 weapons and items, from swords and a bow to a portal gun and time-slowing pills. Go to dinoswords.gg and press Space. It still plays, but the global leaderboard is locked, so your high score will not be recorded there.

4. 4. Rat Race (made by the author of this site)

   Dino fans who want cities and a daily run

   Full disclosure: this one is mine. It is a pixel-art runner in the Chrome dino style, worker edition: you jump and duck through 65 cities drawn with their landmarks (Luxembourg, Paris, London, Tokyo...), plus a Frontalier level where a cross-border commuter runs home from Luxembourg to Arlon, Thionville, Trier, Metz or Nancy. The Daily commute gives everyone the same 900 m course each day with 3 attempts and a shareable result strip, and the game works offline once loaded, in FR, EN, DE and LB.

5. 5. Canabalt

   History buffs and one-button purists

   The one-button rooftop runner from 2009, widely credited with popularising the endless runner five years before the dino, and part of MoMA's video game collection since 2012. On canabalt.com, click Play Canabalt, then press X or C to jump from roof to roof as the city falls apart. The browser version is free; the iOS and Steam versions cost 2.99 EUR and add a two-player mode and 8 more game modes.

6. 6. Geometry Dash (browser demo and Lite app)

   Players who want music and a real challenge

   RobTop's rhythm platformer: your square runs to the beat and you tap to jump over spikes, on fixed levels you end up learning by heart, and a single hit sends you back to the start. The official site has a free browser demo of Level 1, and Geometry Dash Lite is a free app with a handful of levels (the full game with the level editor is paid). Much harder than the dino; skip the 'unblocked' copies, which are not RobTop's.

7. 7. Subway Surfers (web version on Poki)

   A busier 3D step up, with progression

   The 2012 mobile hit by SYBO, playable in the browser on Poki, SYBO's official web partner: you switch lanes to dodge trains, jump and roll, and collect coins and power-ups such as the jetpack. It was the first game on Google Play to pass one billion downloads, in 2018. Poki is ad-funded, so expect banners and short ad breaks you cannot skip.

8. 8. Slope

   Quick 3D runs with two keys

   You steer a ball down an endless neon slope with just left and right, avoiding red blocks and gaps while the speed climbs: two inputs, like the dino, but in 3D. It has been on Y8 since 2014, and its page showed about 148.5 million plays in September 2026. Y8 runs Google ads with a consent banner (you can refuse and still play); the many 'Slope unblocked' sites are copies.

9. 9. Google Snake

   A quick break that is not a runner

   Not a runner, but the other Google game people look for next to the dino: you steer a snake around a checkered field, eat apples and grow until you hit a wall or your own tail. It first appeared as a Google Search easter egg on Google's 19th birthday in 2017; search 'play snake' or open it directly, and play with the keyboard or by swiping on a phone. The start screen has a Daily challenge, but it needs a connection.
