About the event (2026 edition)
The Wamper Triathlon takes place at the Weiswampach lakes in northern Luxembourg, close to the Belgian border. Organised by the local triathlon club, the event covers two days: youth races, the sprint, the relay and the discovery format on Saturday, then the Wämper Lof road run and the Olympic distance on Sunday. The lake provides the open-water swim leg, followed by a bike course through the Oesling hills and a run around the shores. Transition areas sit right beside the beach, giving spectators a clear view of every leg. The event is open to both licensed triathletes and first-timers, making it one of the most accessible multisport events in the country.
Two-day triathlon at the Weiswampach lakes, in its 29th edition. Saturday 22 August 2026 ran the youth and kids' races from 11:00, the sprint triathlon at 13:00 and the three-person relay and the discovery triathlon at 15:00. Sunday 23 August held the Wämper Lof, a road run over 5 km and 10 km, at 10:00, kids' runs from 11:00 and the Olympic triathlon at 13:05.
my takeThe relay is the way in if a full triathlon still sounds absurd: three people, one leg each, same finish line. Weiswampach is 45 minutes north of the city and the lake makes it a decent family day out. Official results are published on the ultratiming page linked above.
