my take
A commissioned alternative ending to Turandot is a real event, not marketing. Even people who know the score will not have heard this last scene.
about the event
Puccini died before finishing Turandot, and for this production the Liège opera commissioned an entirely new final scene from its composer in residence, Andrea Battistoni. Six performances between 18 and 29 June 2027, first night Friday at 20:00, one Sunday matinee at 15:00. Sung in Italian, about 2h30. Tickets required.
